CPAH: Website redesign

The Coalition to Protect America's Health Care had grown to an online community of more than 1 million health care practitioners and patients and its microsite was no longer meeting its needs. I led the visual design of a new website that was more flexible to allow for more original content creation. I also helped them refresh and expand their branding with typography and a new color palette.

The Coalition to Protect America's Health Care needed a clean, user-friendly responsive website that told the story of the Coalition's mission of addressing and responding to the threat to hospital cuts, as well as the ability to tell the stories of hospital workers' and patients' experiences. Since our content was pivoting toward more human-centered stories, I expanded their color palette — from the stronger white, navy blue, and bright red colors — to include warmer beiges, lighter and less saturated blues to soften the look and feel. This tone was carried throughout the brand, including photography. Stock photos of hospital workers and patients can tend to lean toward the stark white and overly posed, but we made sure that any photos used looked genuine and warm, yet urgent when necessary.
In addition to the website redesign, I also designed many graphics for social media, email, print, and an interactive informational booth that was used at the American Hospital Association's annual conference.
